Privacy & cookie statement

The Ammodo Foundation (Stichting Ammodo with its registered office in Amsterdam at Polonceaukade 5 and registered in the Commercial Register under number 50828282) (hereinafter ‘Ammodo’ or ‘we’ and ‘us’) is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

Controller

Ammodo is the ‘Controller’ within the meaning of the GDPR for the processing activities described in this Statement. This means that Ammodo decides which of your personal data is processed, for what purposes and how that happens. Ammodo is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR and in a proper and careful manner. 

Personal data

Ammodo processes personal data within the meaning of the GDPR. Personal data is all data that provides information about an identifiable individual. In connection with the Ammodo Architecture website and the Ammodo Architecture Award, Ammodo processes the following personal data:  

– Your IP address, information about the device you use when visiting our website and information about your visit to our website;  

– Personal information you provide to us when submitting an application for the Ammodo Architecture Award, such as your first name and your surname, date of birth, address, phone number, e-mail address, job title, bank account number, nationality and other personal data included in your application;  

– Further personal information we may request if you are selected for the Ammodo Architecture Award, such as information to verify your identity and financial information;  

– Contact information you provide to us when you contact us or register for our newsletter, such as your name, email address, postal address and/or telephone number. 

Purposes of processing personal data

Ammodo uses your personal data for: 

- Enabling you to visit our website; 

- Analysing the use of our website; 

- Improving our website; 

- Assessing and verifying your application for the Ammodo Architecture Award;  

- Contacting you in relation to your application for the Ammodo Architecture Award; 

- Paying out the prize money associated with the Ammodo Architecture Award if your application is selected for the Ammodo Architecture Award;  

- Communication about Ammodo Architecture (including the Ammodo Architecture Award); 

- Communication with you if you have contacted us;  

- Sending you our newsletter if you have registered for it.

Basis for the processing of personal data 

Ammodo is required to base the use of your personal data on one or more of the legal bases allowed under the GDPR. For the above mentioned purposes of processing Ammodo relies on the following legal bases:  

  • For enabling you to visit our website, assessing and verifying your application for the Ammodo Architecture Award, contacting you in relation to your application for the Ammodo Architecture Award, paying out the prize money associated with the Ammodo Architecture Award if your application is selected, communication about Ammodo Architecture, including the Ammodo Architecture Award, communication with you if you have contacted us, and sending you our newsletter if you have registered for it, we rely on the legal basis that the processing is necessary for the performance of the contract with you
  • For analysing the use of our website and improving our website we rely on our legitimate interest.  
  • Sharing of personal data

    In certain cases, we may share your personal data with third parties such as external suppliers. Such third parties may include ICT providers, suppliers of communication services or other suppliers to whom we outsource certain support services. If you apply for the Ammodo Architecture Award your personal data will be shared with the members of the Advisory Committee.  

    Google Analytics 

    We use Google Analytics to track how users use Ammodo Architecture website and how effective our Google Ads are. The resulting information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Please read Google’s privacy policy for more information, as well as the specific privacy policies of Google Analytics. 

    Google uses this information to track how our website is used, to provide us with reports on the website and to enable it to offer its advertisers information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have not given our consent to Google to use any of the analytics information it gains for other Google services.

    Mailchimp

    We use Mailchimp (provided by The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a Mailchimp) to send our newsletters. The resulting information, including your IP address, is transferred to and stored by Mailchimp on servers in the United States. Mailchimp uses this information to track how newsletters are used in order to provide us with reports about the newsletters and to give its advertisers information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Mailchimp may provide this information to third parties if Mailchimp is legally required to do so, or where such third parties process the information on behalf of Mailchimp.  

    To protect the personal data processed by Mailchimp, the processing, including the transfer and storage of personal data to Mailchimp’s servers in the United States, is governed by Mailchimp’s Data Processing Addendum which includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and is available here. Moreover, Mailchimp annually certifies with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as set forth by U.S. Department of Commerce to protect EU data in compliance with the newly adopted EU-US Data Privacy Framework Principles.

    Use of cookies

    We make use of cookies. A cookie is a small file that is sent along with pages from our website and stored by your browser on the hard drive of your computer. We use cookies analyse and improve the performance of our website. 

    Through our website cookies are also placed by the US company Google, as part of its “Analytics” service, as described above. 

    Retention periods for personal data

    Ammodo stores your personal data in accordance with the GDPR no longer than is necessary for the purposes of processing. Please inform us if you no longer wish to receive our newsletters or mailings or if you want to request us to remove your personal data.  

    Your Privacy Rights

    You have the right of access to your personal data and the right to request that it be corrected or deleted. A request can be made by giving written notice to the Ammodo Foundation, Polonceaukade 5, 1014 DA Amsterdam, the Netherlands or by email to info@ammodo.org

    If we based any processing of personal data on your consent, you have the right to withdraw such consent at any time. Underneath each digital mailing you receive from Ammodo you will find a link, ‘unsubscribe’, which you can use to change your email preferences. 

    Finally, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or your local authority.

    Changes

    Ammodo may amend this Statement from time to time. You can read our current Privacy and Cookie Statement on our website at any time. We recommend that you do this regularly, and certainly at any time that you provide Ammodo with your personal data.
